Two of the the mightiest emotions we have are love and fear.
Yet we give so much power to only one of these emotions, fear.
When we’re in love, we are excited; we are passionate; we have a drive; a sense of purpose for our being.
We are unstoppable in our endeavor!
When fear knocks at our doorsteps we are instantly crippled. We are intimidated by little things; your neighbor finding out that you don’t have a flat screen TV so (s)he might put you in a lower social class than them (who gives a damn what they think).
We fear things that don’t even really matter to us in the end. Why is that? Why do we let such small clouds of doubt take over our own understanding of how we should live our own lives? We do this over and over until life has us by the balls, holding onto them so tightly we no longer have a choice but to submit to mediocrity.
I personally refuse to be mediocre!
I refuse to be simple!
I refuse to be part of the flock!
I want to stand out; to be the leader; to be a legacy, like every great (wo)man before me. I want to be an unstoppable force!
I believe that it is not necessary to conquer ones fears; but it is vital to manage them.
Learn to control them and use it as motivation to pursue that which dreads your soul.
Fill your life with manageable fear, hold it hostage in your mind; sit it down in front of your thoughts and have a damn good negotiation.
Be firm with it; show no mercy.
Be in charge.
Do that and see yourself soar!
Grow to heights beyond the sights of men and women.
After all, it’s not the darkness within us that scares us, it’s the light that we really fear; the potential to be greater than what society has in store for us.
So go out there and live free; be the King of this concrete jungle and let out a roar loud enough for the world to hear; to listen; and to feel the shine you exude.
